Step 4: Configuring Your Environment

Before you can begin using MemoryScape, you must add MemoryScape to your PATH variable. On some systems, you may need to mount the /proc directory.

On Compaq UNIX and IRIX, you must typing:

ls /proc 

If it is mounted, the ls command prints a list of numbers. If you see an error message, or no message at all, the directory is probably not mounted. If it isn't mounted, you need to ask your system administrator to mount it.
